During the Thursday the Serie A club AS Roma announced the arrival of the Nigerian defender Osinachi Ohale.
The 28-year-old has spent the last season with the Primera Iberdrola club CD Tacón, a club acquired by Real Madrid last summer and whom now since July 1st goes fully under the name Real Madrid. In Ohale’s home country Nigeria, she has played with Rivers Angels and Delta Queens while abroad she has had spells in USA with Houston Dash and Sweden with Vittsjö GIK and Växjö DFF.
Ohale told AS Roma official website:
“I decided to chose Roma because of so many things…So many amazing things about the club, about this city and this country that interested me…So I felt like it would be a great thing for me, to explore and to experience new things and a new challenge.”
With the Nigerian women’s national team “Super Falcons”, Ohale has played in four African Women’s Cup of Nations, 2010, 2014, 2016 and 2018, winning all of them. She has also participated in three World Cups with Nigeria in 2011, 2015 and 2019.
Ohale is AS Roma’s third signing of the summer after the previous signings of Spanish striker Paloma Lazaro and Italian goalkeeper Rachele Baldi.
