This will be the first season in which Real Madrid have an official women’s team. The team was created last season but then played as CD Tacón in the Spanish top league, Primera Iberdrola. For one of the team’s biggest stars, Swedish international, Kosovare Asllani it’s a dream come true.
“It’s really big, it’s what you want. That all big clubs on the men’s side should have a women’s team. That Real Madrid now have it, is a huge boost for Spanish football, young girls that have Real Madrid as their favourite team can now dream of playing there,” Asllani told Swedish Fotbollskanalen.
“This is a completely new chapter in Real Madrid history that is being written and to be part of that is big, you want to be part of inspiring a new generation.”
