The 18-year-old Dalila Ippólito, who has already worn the number 10 jersey in the Argentine national team, has arrived in Italy to join Juventus. The midfielder is coming latest from the Argentina top club UAI Urquiza. According to the Juventus journalist Giovanni Albanese, she will be presented by the Italian champions after observing a period of quarantine.
The midfield talent has already showed her presence on the big stages, been playing for Argentina senior national team and as a 17-year-old she was selected to last year’s World Cup in France, a tournament which she needed to drop out of school for in order to attend. And she was not in France to just watch and learn. Head coach Carlos Borrello called her into the heat, especially in the match against Scotland at Parc des Princes when she entered in the 67th minute and the team was behind 3-0 when Argentine catched up and the match ended with an incredible 3-3.
“The World Cup gave me knowledge of the outside world, but also to pay attention and give importance to the physique. And to the European structure. Talking to the girls of the national team who play abroad they tell you that there is another world, that we are light years away,” she has told the Argentine newspaper LA NACION.
With her recent club UAI Urquiza, before the season was canceled in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, she played 13 games, scoring two goals and two assists.
On her Instagram account, Ippolito before traveling to Italy, published a photo in which he wrote: “Follow your dreams, they know the way. There are never big dreams for a small dreamer. There I go once more, fighting to fulfill my dreams. See you.”
